ON-GRID or GRID CONNECTED SYSTEM:

Basic components for grid connected system

  • SPV Modules
  • Inverter
  • Junction Box
  • Distribution Box
  • Cables

BASIC OPERATION PRINCIPLE:
Solar panels systems converts sunlight into DC (direct current) electricity. In order to achieve a higher system voltage, modules are installed in a row arrangement, called a string. Calculated no. of strings are connected in parallel in the Array Junction Boxes (AJB). Outputs from many such junction boxes can be connected in parallel in the Main Junction Box (MJB). MJB may or may not be used depending on the type of Inverter. This Main Junction Box output is passed onto an electronic power inverter which changes it from DC into AC (alternating current). The AC electricity is then distributed to the building’s LT Panel which supplies the electricity.

OFF GRID CONNECTED SYSTEM.
Solar panels, which are made up of multiple modules, are either rigid or semi-rigid. Some systems only connected to a series of batteries that are used for backup power, most are connected to a home or business to provide power directly while others are connected to a building as well as the electrical grid. A complete solar energy system is made up of an array of units, an inverter to turn DC voltage into AC, a meter to track the power that is produced, a battery to store the energy and all the necessary wiring.
